The Drone Replacement Program (DRP) is a first-of-its-kind statewide initiative led by the Northern Plains UAS Test Site to help North Dakota agencies transition to secure, compliant drone systems. Established through Senate Bill 2018, the program addresses evolving federal requirements by replacing legacy platforms that do not meet National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) or FCC security standards, while setting the foundation for the next generation of public-sector UAS operations.
DRP is a statewide modernization effort designed to improve how agencies procure, manage, and operate drone fleets ensuring long-term compliance, operational readiness, and alignment with emerging technologies.
