The Northern Plains UAS Test Site has also been a primary implementer for the Department of War's UAS Logistics Traffic Response Autonomy (ULTRA) Project. We're helping protect our borders and secure the nation's airspace.

Activating 44803 Waivers
As an FAA-designated UAS Test Site, the NPUASTS is uniquely positioned to establish aircraft-agnostic 44803 airspace approvals – anywhere in the United States. This allows UAS defense operators to test aircraft and conduct operations more nimbly, facilitating them outside of military test ranges and eliminating red tape.
Testing and Evaluating Counter-UAS
We're a nationally trusted partner for Counter-UAS (C-UAS) testing and operational demonstrations. For more than five years, we have supported DHS' Science and Technology Directorate (S&T), and other government and industry partners in safely planning and executing real-world C-UAS testing from detection and tracking to identification and live mitigation.
